Dr. Evan Clark is currently the adjunct professor of saxophone at University of Illinois Springfield and has formerly worked at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign as the saxophone teaching assistant. He has also taught as an instructor for Illinois Summer Youth Music (ISYM) since 2016. Dr. Clark received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in saxophone performance and literature with a minor in musicology in 2019 from the University of Illinois where he studied with Debra Richtmeyer. He earned the Bachelor of Music degree in saxophone performance from the University of South Carolina where he studied with Dr. Clifford Leaman. Dr. Clark has gained regional and international acclaim from the MTNA Chamber Music Competition (2018), the 5th Jean Marie Londeix International Saxophone Competition (2017), the International Saxophone Symposium and Competition (2014), the University of South Carolina Concerto Competition (2014), the Vandoren Emerging Artist Competition (2014/2013), the LaGrange Symphony Young Artist Competition (2011), the MTNA Senior Woodwind Competition (2011), and the National YoungArts Foundation (2011). His performances and research projects have taken him throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. Furthermore, he has appeared with the Spoleto Festival USA Orchestra in Charleston, SC as well as attended the American Saxophone Academy and Brevard Music Center.
